DIY Simple Off Shoulder Crop Top

Hey Beauties, today’s post is on a tutorial I made for my daughter’s off shoulder crop top.  A few weeks ago she asked if I could make her a crop top and she showed me an example of the crop top she wanted. She also went to my fabric stack and picked a specific fabric she wanted me to use.

I decided to do a video tutorial while making the top.

So, what do you think? 🙂

How To Make a 3D Mask With No Pattern

Hello Lovelies, Happy New Month. I hope you all had a great weekend.

I haven’t posted for a while because of my classes, but I’m done with most of my class so, here I am. If you follow me on YouTube, I have uploaded several tutorials, which I will be sharing with you soon.

I made this 3D mask last year during the pandemic. It was requested by one of my subscribers so, I decided to do a tutorial on it. It’s a bit easy to make. I used an African print cotton wax fabric (Ankara)  for the outside of the mask and light cotton for the lining.  I also used fusible interfacing to wedge in between for protection.  I uploaded the tutorial on how to make it to my youtube channel. The video is also added below.

Let me know what you think.

DIY – How To Sew A Simple Shift Dress

Hey Beauties, This beautiful dress sew-along video is about a red dress I saw on Fashion Nova. A few weeks ago, I was shopping for my daughter’s junior prom dress and I decided to check the women dresses section to pick one or two dresses for myself.

I saw this simple dress (image below) but I couldn’t find my size. So, I decided I was going to make it. Lucky for me, on one of my trips to Joann Fabric I saw a red chiffon that had one and half yard left on the roll. It was by 60″ and I knew right away that it will be perfect for the dress so I bought it.

Here are the modifications I made:

  1. I used a round neck instead of a V neck.
  2. I also double the size of the sleeve cuffs.
  3. I used a thicker (cotton) lining instead of knit.
  4. Finally, I added a little length to it too.

Here is the Part 2 of the tutorial

DIY Simple Kimono Top – Freehand

Hi Lovelies, Recently I’ve been trying to get back to sewing. It has always been my therapy when I have so much going on around me and I need to think or when I need a space to myself.

Last week, I made this simple kimono top. It took me less than 30min to finish it. It was that simple.

I used an Ankara fabric I bought the last time I was in Nigeria. I love the fabric color and combination. If you’re interested in making the kimono top, you can give it a try and let me know how it goes. Youtube tutorial Here

DIY How to Make Girl’s Dress/Top

Hello lovely people, hope your day is going well. I made my younger daughter this knit dress/top few weeks ago using the fabric I used in making a knit maxi dress. When she saw the dress on me she told me she loved the fabric a lot.

After checking my stack of fabrics, I realized I only had 1/4 of a yard left so I decided to use my maxi dress to make the dress for her.

She was so precise about what she wanted and also that she wanted a hoodie on it.  It was a surprise for her because I know she’ll never think that I could convert my dress for her since I just made this dress.

By her looks in the photos, she really did love the dress/top.

This tutorial is on how I converted my maxi dress to a top/dress for her. Let me know what you think.

DIY Simple Knit Maxi Dress Tutorial

Hello Beautiful people. I made this maxi dress a few weeks ago. It’s a very simple dress that you could easily make within an hour.

I used the bodice I made in the tutorial of  How to draft a simple knit bodice for this maxi dress. When I was cutting it, I had to cut it on the right side so I could easily align the lines of the pattern design on the fabric.

Fabrics with lines could be a little intimidating to work with because you have to perfectly align the lines. If not, it will look crazy when you’re done no matter how beautiful the fabric is.
