Hello All, how is your summer going? We’re having a blast here in Minnesota while supply lasts. 🙂

Gotta be a Minnesotan to understand my statement LOL. The snow state 🙂

I was invited to a wedding ceremony few weekends ago. It was a West African wedding. In West Africa, our cultures and traditional outfits are different but similar in many ways.

For these sets of occasions (wedding ceremonies) traditional outfits are always the best option. When choosing an outfit you have to consider the Head Tie, the Makeup, the Outfits, the Colors and the Jewelries which always have to be on point.

For this party I wanted a simple dress or 2 piece skirt and blouse that I could easily make and at the same time look gorgeous. So I dug into my pile of fabrics and  saw this beautiful royal blue double organza lace. I’ve had this lace for over 8yrs but I totally forgot I had it. It was in one of the boxes I’ve had sealed and never opened for years. Surprisingly there were 3 different colors of the same fabric. I will be sharing the other ones once I figure out what to do with it. I bought the lace in Austria.

For this dress, Yes it’s a dress. (Some of my friends thought it was 2 piece ) I used Simplicity 1650 which I once reviewed in a previous post Here – Peplum Dress

For the bottom flare I used McCalls 6838 and added  3 inches to make room for my high heel.

My Makeup – by Mo Alli Artistry  she is very good.
