How To Draft a Cap Sleeve – Easy

Hello Beautiful People,

I hope your day is going great.

I made this Ankara dress few years ago. The fabric was given to me by a dear friend and I love it a lot.

I decided to share with you how I made the cap sleeve for this dress. The fabric was only 1yrd and 3/4 and I wanted to make use of it in a way that it would come out looking good. Because the fabric was so small for me, I thought I could only make a sleeveless dress with it. I really do not like sleeveless dresses because I believe I have a big biceps and that’s why I decided to add a sleeve cap to the dress.

I did a video about it Here on YouTube. You can also scroll down to watch it.

Let me know what you think.

DIY Dolman Sleeve Dress With Pattern Drafting

Hey Beautiful People,

I made this beautiful stripe knit dress during COVID, I just never got to share it with you.

I have added the video on how I made the dress in the video below or you can check it on my YouTube Channel.

I drafted the pattern first, using my personal measurements, please make sure you use your own measurements and let me know if you have any questions.

FYI: – I laid the fabric flat on the table and used pins to hold the fabric together aligning the lines together from front to back.

Sew With Me – M7936 Jumpsuit – Using Ankara Cotton Fabric

Hello Beautiful People,

Spring has arrived in Minneapolis, where I live. Last week’s temperatures were in the 60s and 70s Fahrenheit, which I appreciated. You wouldn’t believe it’s back to 40 degrees and snowing.

I made this jumpsuit few years ago, probably during COVID. I used the McCalls pattern M7936 for this jumpsuit. If you follow me on YouTube link here you would have seen it.

I did a little bit of adjustment to it:

  • I added one inch to the shoulder and extended the sleeve an inch with a flap that I rolled up.
  • I added 1 inch and half to the jumpsuit. I added it in the mid section so it could extend the crotch.
  • I also added an inch to the seam allowance.
  • I added pockets

I like the jumpsuit a lot and I will be making another one, probably a 3/4 length.

Let me know what you think.

How to Make Kid’s Mask

Hello Lovelies, Happy New Month. I hope your weekend is going great.

I haven’t posted for a while because I’ve been busy with other projects. I made this kid’s face mask last year right at the beginning of the pandemic. It’s for kids 2-6 years old.

It was requested by one of my subscribers so, I decided to do a tutorial on it. It’s a bit easy to make. I lined the inner fabric and also added cotton interfacing, wedging inbetween the fabrics for more protection.

I uploaded the tutorial on how to make it to my youtube channel. The video is also added below.

Let me know what you think.

I haven’t posted for a while because of my classes, but I’m done with most of my class so, here I am. If you follow me on YouTube, I have uploaded several tutorials, which I will be sharing with you soon.

I made this 3D mask last year during the pandemic. It was requested by one of my subscribers so, I decided to do a tutorial on it. It’s a bit easy to make. I used an African print cotton wax fabric (Ankara)  for the outside of the mask and light cotton for the lining.  I also used fusible interfacing to wedge in between for protection.  I uploaded the tutorial on how to make it to my youtube channel. The video is also added below.

Let me know what you think.
